Job Overview:

Warehouse and Inventory Lead provides consistent and timely support to the company, vendors and customers as it relates to all warehouse duties, as well as provide support to the production floor.  An ideal candidate is someone with a solid warehouse work experience, strong communication skills, good attendance, and a desire to grow their career with us!  Must be able to communicate, verbal and electronically, interact well with others and input data into the computer using a keypad.  Stays focused and follows instructions with the determination to meet deadlines.  Work independently with an attention to detail and handle multiple priorities.  
 
 

General Duties:

•        Exhibits a safety-first attitude in all that is done, from proper PPE compliance to keeping the work environment safe and hazard-free.  Compliance with all workplace and product safety standards and procedures

•        Ability to read job ticket and shipping instructions on customer orders

•        Responsible for cleanliness of machinery/equipment and organization of the workspace; light maintenance of machinery and troubleshooting problems may be required as applicable and safe to do so

  • Performs manufacturing related housekeeping
  • Performs inventory on a bi-yearly basis (or more frequently as needed)

•        Comply with quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC including but not limited to handling procedures, paperwork requirements, etc.  Compliance with all data integrity, product safety, and GMP standards required.

•        Responsible for following processes and procedures

•        Participation in department meetings, process improvement
events, training, and safety program as scheduled

 

Function Specific Duties:

•        Materials & Receiving

o  Receives, inventories and labels incoming materials; and Pressroom supplies, UPS and FedEx packages, returned product, and equipment

o  Obtains material from stock and distributes received items to appropriate department

o  Takes materials to presses as needed for job order and obtains unused material from presses; Puts bar codes on unused material and returns to stock

o  Ensures materials are properly located and maintained following storage procedures

o  Communicates with Accounts Payable and Purchasing

•        Shipping

o   Reviews job ticket for shipping requirements and special instructions

o   Ensures that job orders are properly packaged and boxed for shipping

o   Documents the amount shipping and calculates total amount packaged

o  Assist by auditing shipments, preparing Bills of Lading and other related shipping duties

o   Participate in scheduling of daily transportation and communicates with transportation companies as appropriate

•        Finished Goods Inventory

o   Enter Finished Goods into the Warehouse and check the accuracy of the entries. 

o   Receive, count, and enter Returned Materials.

o   Transfer Finished Goods to an On Hold Location when necessary. 

o   Transfer Reworked Material that has been On Hold or Returned back into Finished Goods.

o   Make Adjustments to inventory due to Authorized Destruction, Samples removed, etc.

  • Raw Material Inventory

•        Purchasing and Receipt of raw materials

•        Maintain records for purchases received

•        Removal/Purge of aged raw materials

•        File claims for defective raw materials and place in quarantine

•        Follow up with Suppliers for corrective actions needed.

•        Assist with customer complaint investigation related to raw material

•        Cycle inventory count of Raw Material

Experience/Skills Required:

•        High school education or equivalent required

•        Minimum 1 year Logistics experience (shipping, receiving, and/or materials) required

•        Printing industry experience preferred

•        Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. or greater safely and regularly; additional poundage may be needed with assistance

•        Forklift experience and/or certification strongly preferred (Certification is required in order to do the position; can be obtained through training and certification process with MCC)

•        Proven commitment to the business (Internal candidate must not be on discipline for attendance, performance, or attitude in past 6 months)

•        Strong attention to detail

•        Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and written form); seen as a team player with positive attitude

•        Must be able to relate to, work with, and influence as needed, people at all levels of the organization

•        Experience with and ability to utilize Microsoft Office Applications

•        Ability to input data in the computer

•        Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test)

•        Ability correctable to 20/20

•        Ability to differentiate colors

•        Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions with determination to meet deadlines

•        Proven ability to work independently with attention to detail

•        Assertive and solution/deadline-focused

•        Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment

PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to: 

  • Wear hearing, foot, eye and/or other personal protective equipment while in a manufacturing setting
  • Frequently stand for long periods, walk, stoop, bend, crouch, and kneel.
  • Frequently sit, turning head left and right to view 180 degrees behind self
  • Frequently ascend and descend a height of 18 inches from the floor
  • Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, feel, grasp, and reach for items, and use a keyboard to communicate through written means
  • Consistently push or pull objects up to 40 pounds
  • Periodically lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds 
  • Vision abilities include – close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to distinguish color variations, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Medium to loud noise environment
  • Work flexible/varying schedules and hours as needed
  • Work overtime as required by workload and customer mandated deadlines
