Multi-Color Corporation is hiring a 3rd Shift Production Team Lead at our Asheville, NC (Weaverville) location!

If you possess strong time management and people skills, coupled with technical print knowledge and flexographic print experience, we need to have a conversation. Our third shift team consists of approximately 20 associates.

Position Overview:

Our Manufacturing Team Leader is responsible for selecting, training, assigning, and developing all personnel within their assigned team. They coordinate both the daily and long-term activities of the team. Selected candidate must be able to interact and support the needs of all teams to successfully obtain company goals.

Your typical day will include:

  • Responsible for evaluating the processes within the team and coordinates the implementation of necessary improvements.
  • Is the team’s primary resource for technical support, interpretation of criteria, and decisions affecting the quality of product.
  • Monitors the condition of all equipment and components within the team for ensured safety, maintenance, and organization.
  • Maximizes productivity and maintains an acceptable level of quality, while ensuring safe practices throughout the team.
  • Monitors waste and operational variances by analyzing the efficiency reports, waste sheets, and variance reports.
  • Monitors and provides feedback on the accuracy of all data collection entries made within the team.
  • Establishes obtainable goals for the team members in the areas of safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Develops team members’ abilities so that they have the tools available to deal with problems and technical issues in a logical and systematic manner.
  • Constantly strives toward reducing downtime and waste within the team.
  • Investigates customer complaints and internal rejections produced in the team, to determine a root cause and prevent future recurrences.
  • Is responsible for the final approval of product prior to production and the inspection process in the team.
  • Is responsible for selection, training, scheduling, motivation and development of all team members.
  • Is responsible for all administrative duties within the team such as: evaluations, promotions, disciplines, monitoring attendance, and record keeping, in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Acts as the primary contact for the communication of opportunities, needs, objectives, policies, and other information to the team members by holding regular bimonthly team meetings.
  • Communicates all pertinent information verbally and in writing, in the form of a daily update, which is distributed via e-mail.
  • Contributes to the strategic and long-term planning needs of the team, as well as the shift.

Job Requirements

You will be required to possess:

  • High school diploma OR G.E.D.
  • Ability to walk during an 8-hour shift, bend, squat, and climb.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Extensive technical printing knowledge.
  • Knowledge of solid manufacturing processes and practices.
  • Good human relations skills.
  • Effective planning, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
