Job Description


    As a Production Team Lead for the MCC Scottsburg facility, this position is responsible for leading assigned production operations with responsibilities for safety/housekeeping, quality, productivity and customer service.  The Production Team Lead is a working lead that will help coordinate and achieve the daily performance goals of the company while supporting the development of the team.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate processes within the team and coordinate the implementation of continuous improvement actions.
  • Be a resource for technical support, production support, interpretation of data, and quality assurance.
  • Drive team behaviors to obtain goals in the areas of safety, quality and productivity.
  • Monitor waste and operational variances by analyzing efficiency reports, waste sheets, and variance data.  Ensure the integrity of all data collection entries made within the team.
  • Lead team members to define root cause in a logical and systematic manner.
  • Investigate customer complaints and internal rejections to determine a root cause and prevent future recurrences.
  • Final approval of product and inspection processes.
  • Select, train, schedule, motivate and develop team members.
  • Administrative duties within the team such as: evaluations, payroll, promotions, disciplines, monitoring attendance, and record keeping, in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Act as the primary contact for the communication of opportunities, needs, objectives, policies, and other information to the team members by holding regular team meetings.
  • Communicate all pertinent information verbally and in writing, in the form of a daily update, which is distributed via e-mail.
  • Contribute to the strategic and long-term planning needs of the department.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • High school or advanced degree with 1-3 years of related supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Literate in MicroSoft Office or the equivalent. Capability to learn business information systems.
  • Articulate, clear, persuasive and passionate in the spoken and written word.
  • Basic college math required, statistical analysis preferred.
  • Move about in the plant. Ability to work 12 hours shifts and nights.
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Rational, logical, fact-driven decision making. Read and analyze production and productivity documents.
