Our Shipping & Receiving / Material Handlers are responsible for:  

Performing a variety of shipping and receiving tasks: Verifying materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate departments/locations; prepares items for shipment. 

Primary Duties:

  • Safety:
    • Exhibits a safety-first attitude in all that is done, from proper PPE compliance to keeping the work environment safe and hazard-free.
    • Promotes our safety standards through compliance with our GMP program.
  • Materials & Receiving:
    • Operates forklift
    • Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
    • Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received.
    • Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel
    • Takes materials to presses as needed for job order and obtains unused material from presses;
    • Ensures materials are properly located and maintained following storage procedures, safety, and quality/GMP standards
  • Shipping:
    • Reviews job ticket for shipping requirements and special instructions
    • Assures that job orders are properly packaged and boxed for shipping
    • Assists with boxing orders, shrink wrapping, applying core protectors and/or core tags and preparing paperwork
    • Processes packaging slips
    • Communicates with appropriate associates to verify information on job tickets prior to packaging job order
    • May maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records
  • General duties:
    • May operate forklift, dolly, and/or pallet jack, in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink-wrap machine
    • Performs inventory on a quarterly basis (or more frequently as needed)
    • Maintains and organizes work area
    • Assists in other areas as required
    • Responsible for working overtime when needed

Job Requirements

Experience/Skills Required:

    • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
    • Must be available to work in a 3-shift facility
    • Warehouse, shipping/receiving experience preferred.
    • Ability to work overtime when needed.
    • Ability to accept and adapt to multiple and/or changing priorities.
    • Ability to work under stressful or pressure conditions.
    • Ability to operate sit-down forklift, using clamp.
    • Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
    • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
    • Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods.
    • Ability to input data in the computer
    • Proven ability to work independently with attention to detail
    • Assertive and solution/deadline-focused
