Search no further… but keep reading! Multi- Corporation, located less than 5 miles from Jungle Jim’s in Eastgate, is looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist. Our payroll team handles full cycle payroll processing for approximately 2,000 employees across 14 locations in the United States. As a Senior Payroll Specialist, primary responsibilities include:

  • Full scope payroll oversight for multiple manufacturing locations across multiple states.
  • Processing assigned biweekly payrolls, utilizing Ceridian’s Dayforce module.
  • Maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley
  • Audit and review timesheet and payroll reconciliations.
  • Review payroll audit reports and HR documents to ensure data accuracy and proper approvals are received. Analyzes and researches errors; providing resolution.
  • Process garnishments and child support orders.
  • Ensure that the reconciliation, remittance and reporting for state and federal tax is completed in accordance with government deadlines.
  • Keep up-to-date with Dayforce system updates and new payroll or time and attendance system training. Provide system training as needed.

 Other responsibilities include: 

  • Provide required payroll reports to accounting personnel for review and approval in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley. Follows up to ensure approvals are received in time to ensure direct deposits are transmitted on time.
  • Audit 401k deductions monthly and provide analysis to benefit department.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding deductions, payments, allowances or discrepancies.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of federal and state legislation affecting payroll and stay current with government regulations that impact employee taxation.
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting for W-2’s and other payroll forms.
  • Participates as payroll lead with new payroll implementations.
  • Completes accounting reports as requested for special projects and workers compensation audits.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Associate Degree in Accounting or related field preferred; high school diploma required.
  • 7+ years’ experience processing multi-state payrolls (required)
  • Experience with an integrated HR/Payroll system, such as Ceridian Dayforce or ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • Working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley requirements required. 

 

Certifications and/or Licenses:

  • Certified Payroll Professional (preferred) 

 

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies and Abilities:

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, etc); proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge of federal, local and multi-state payroll laws
  • Ability to deal appropriately with confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Aptitude in business math and accounting
  • Effectively communicate with people at various levels within the organization, in potentially stressful situations
  • Display a positive attitude and is a “team player”
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail with the ability to stay focused  
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to a changing environment
  • Strong communication skills including interaction with internal and external contacts

  • Must be able to work under schedule constraints while consistently meeting timelines
