Job Description

  1. Safety: Promote the safety of the associates.
  2. Procurement: Manage the performance of assigned vendor relationships for the Plant and coordinate with Corporate Purchasing and Logistics, when applicable. Continually monitor, evaluate and communicate assigned vendor performance of price, quality, on-time delivery and service.
  3. Substrate Inventory: Ensure adequate substrate availability between the Plant and Warehouse. Accurately forecast and order all assigned substrate through chosen vendor.
  4. Substrate Quality: Work with Logistics/ Warehouse manager to assure proper paper work and samples are submitted from the pressroom on all rejected rolls. Work with vendors to quickly process damaged/rejected materials and to receive credits in a timely manner.
  5. Scheduling: Obtain orders from Customer Service to create a schedule and update the schedule based on scheduling standards and production accomplishments. Prioritize jobs considering conflicting positions among Customer Service and Production.  
  6. Finished Goods Inventory: Review overrun reports and help CSRs make adjustments where needed to assure we do not constantly under or over produce on specific jobs. Coordinate the use of aged inventory with the Press department and Shipping/Receiving.
  7. Customer Relationship: Promote a customer-centered culture at the Plant, ensuring on-time deliveries of a quality product and supporting the development of new products and technologies.
  8. Cylinder Management: Manage the availability, functionality and quality of cylinders from specification to delivery. Schedule cylinders based on customer needs and assure the quality of job jackets. Provide cylinder inventory information to the management team including layout, damage, defects and potential impact on plant and customer.
  9. Product Development: Participate in product development through the review of artwork, including layout design, and production capability. Optimize layout of jobs to maximize production efficiency.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Support a culture of relentless pursuit of continuous improvement, focused and data based.

Job Requirements

  • Advanced degree preferred with 3-5 years of experience in one or more of the defined areas of responsibility.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Must be detail oriented, able to multi-task and have a strong sense of urgency
  • Conform to all policies, work procedures, instructions and safety regulations
