Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the translation of customer requirements into production targets which optimize plant operations with respect to work force and waste. Ensure a smooth and cost-efficient flow of operational resources and processes.      

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Create and maintain production schedules for prepress, printing, and finishing departments.
  2. Respond to quick turnaround requests from customers in such a way as to minimize plant disruption.
  3. Prepare and submit status and performance reports using approved statistical methods that support problem solving efforts to optimize safety, quality, productivity, and profitability.
  4. Oversee the process of data entry to include job number creation, WIP inventory levels, and other job specific production information.
  5. Other duties as assigned to advance the mission of the Company.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for tracking availability of strategic raw materials such as film, primed metallized paper, screens, inks, etc.
  2. Facilitate weekly production scheduling meetings that include senior management, operations, and customer service.
  3. Lead relevant OE and/or LSS initiatives from a logistics or planning perspective that positively impact the P&L statement.
  4. Monitor deviations from published schedules, over/under equipment loading, and long term plant production planning versus customer needs which are to be continuously reviewed and communicated.  
  5. Support R&D or Technical Service requests for production time to evaluate product or process improvement opportunities.
  6. Interact with Maintenance leadership to ensure proper preventative maintenance activities are scheduled for critical equipment.
  7. Ensure that Food Safety policies and practices are followed and understood.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS 

    1. Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in logistics, math, statistics, or related field.
    2. Minimum of five years of experience in management with emphasis on results oriented performance that focuses on simplification, standardization, and automation.
    3. Experience in MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) and/or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) is required.
    4. Minimum of three years supervisory experience with multiple direct reports.
    5. APICS (Advancing Productivity, Innovation, and Competitive Success)   certification is a plus.
    6. Broad based knowledge of manufacturing operations and supply chain management with special emphasis on the gravure printing process and the utilization of multiple substrates and process paths.
    7. Proficient in statistics and their use in a manufacturing operation.
    8. Ability to effectively communicate to various internal and external audiences in both person and various electronic media.
    9. Ability to manage time and work effectively with minimal supervision.
    10. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    11. Ability to work with internal and external individuals, demonstrating a high level of professionalism.
    12. Ability to use and a working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project).
    13. Highly organized, detail oriented, and data driven.
    14. Enthusiasm for learning and personal growth.
    15. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
    16. Must be willing to work any shift and overtime as warranted.
