Position Summary:

Our Napa CA facility is currently seeking a skilled full time Prepress Technician to join our second shift team.

The Offset Prepress Department at MCC Napa focuses on the preparation and production of Pressure-Sensitive and Glue Applied Labels for the Wine and Spirits industry.

Primary Position Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and stepping graphic files for optimum production results using ESKO work flows
  • Proof and prepare 1-up production files
  • Manipulate files in illustrator and/or Photoshop to meet press needs as they arise
  •  Managing and organizing work area and computer
  • Helping to organize, inventory and stage multiple projects for daily production
  • Helping other team members plate jobs and create in house tooling
  •  Use in-house equipment to make offset, flexo and letterpress plates and deliver materials to production
  •  Use in-house equipment to make silk-screens and deliver materials to production
  •  Uses Adobe CC in conjunction with GMG and in-house software to perform CMYK color matching
  •  Record time and materials used using in-house systems

 

Technical Skills Required:

  • Skilled in Mac-based Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Working knowledge of Word, Outlook
  • Understanding of fonts, color theory, and industry technology and terminology
  • Working knowledge of ESKO software preferred, but not required
  • Understanding of label production tooling, i.e. foil, embossing, flexo plates, and cutting dies needed for label production

  • Perform effectively in a team-based approach to process improvement and problem-solving
  • Perform well independently on projects from beginning to end
  • Flexibility and availability during peak seasonal periods is required

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Experience Required      3+ to 7 Years as a prepress technician or similar position

Education Required        AA/AS, Bachelor's Degree or Trade School Certification

Shift                             Monday-Friday  Second shift, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
