Primary Responsibilities

Financial and Operational Controls:

  • Ensure effective and efficient system of internal controls associated with financial reporting and statements, segregation of duties, inventory valuation and reserves; physical inventories, fixes assets, and budgeting while adhering to company policies and governmental regulations (GAAP, SOX compliance, etc.)

  • Lead the review and maintenance of work center rates and machine standards.

  • Ensure understanding and accountability for internal controls and processes.

  • Initiate changes or improvements to controls when efficiency or effectiveness can be improved.

 

Reporting and analysis; Driving plant profitability and return on capital:

  • Perform and monitor the plant’s monthly closing process in conjunction with the Accounting team.

  • Ensure that account receivables are collected within customer terms, minimize aged AR, resolve issues as they arise, and prepare timely reports as required.

  • Work with commercial teams, and plant personnel to minimize aged inventory, and prepare timely reports as required.

  • Communicate results effectively to management and non-financial personnel.

  • Provide insightful analytics that support decision making and prioritizing resources.

  • Provide in-depth analysis on variances to plan and forecast.

 

Operations planning:

  • Participate in the development of plant objectives that are aligned to Division strategic objectives.

  • Partner with the Plant Management Team in developing plans to drive and measure productivity improvements.

  • Lead financial planning and budgeting processes.

Cross-functional leadership and team contribution:

  • Work across organization boundaries to achieve plant, division or corporate objectives by fostering a service oriented and business partner approach.

  • Develop and share best practices (i.e. process improvements, financial modeling, and procedures changes.)

  • Create an environment where talent is developed through effective performance management, establishment of clear goals and objectives, talent evaluation systems and utilization of people.

  • Act as a resource to the non-financial leaders of the business providing education and training on the key principles of Finance.

Job Requirements

 Qualifications

•         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or Business required 

•         Experience as a leader and Financial Manager in a manufacturing environment required; Cost Accounting background very helpful.

•         Strong with Microsoft Office (Particularly Excel - including ability to input formulas, perform analysis, create pivot tables, etc. on complex data).

•         Experience with SAP and Hyperion preferred.

•         College level math including accounting and analysis.  Proven experience with budgets, financial statements, financial analysis, etc.

•         Rational, fact-driven decision making skills.

•         High level of accuracy, strong attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills

•         Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, make recommendations, and present findings, providing guidance to the management team on complex or controversial topics.

•         Candidate must be a self-starter with strong organizational and planning skills.

•         Experience leading projects, delegating, and seeing problems through to resolution.

•         Articulate and clear in written and verbal communication. 

•         Persuasive and passionate in the spoken and written word.

•         Must be able to relate to people at all levels of the organization, including diverse cultures.  The person in this position should be a viewed as a financial partner and will be expected to communicate at regularly scheduled plant meetings.

•         Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.

•         Experience managing others preferred.  Must be able to hold self, subordinates, and business partners accountable.  Will lead, manage and develop others.
