Job Description

Multi-Color Corporation is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team! We are a growing organization, located just minutes from Anderson Township. 

As a member of the Multi-Color Human Resources Payroll team, this position is responsible for processing assigned biweekly payrolls utilizing Ceridian’s Dayforce module for multiple manufacturing locations across multiple states.  The MCC Payroll team processes payroll for approximately 2,000 employees across 14 locations in the United States.

Job Duties: 

  • Process assigned payrolls for multiple manufacturing facilities in multiple states
  • Audit & review timesheet & payroll reconciliations
  • Reviews payroll audit reports and HR documents to ensure data accuracy and proper approvals are received  Analyzes and researches errors; provides resolution
  • Provides various payroll reports to accounting personnel
  • Maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley
  • Respond to inquiries regarding deductions, payments, allowances or discrepancies
  • Process garnishments and child support orders
  • Ensure that the reconciliation, remittance and reporting for state and federal tax is completed in accordance with government deadlines
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting for W-2’s and other payroll forms
  • Maintain a working knowledge of federal and state legislation affecting payroll
  • Keep up-to-date with Dayforce system updates and new payroll system training
  • Stay current with government regulations that impact employee taxation
  • Participates in department projects, including new payroll implementations and corporate Human Resources events

Job Requirements

Experience/Skills Required: 

  • High school or advanced degree with 5-7 years of related payroll processing and taxes for multi-state payrolls
  • Advanced Excel skills are required (pivot tables, vlookups, etc) and proficient with other Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a deadline driven environment
  • Demonstrate aptitude in business math and accounting
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and the ability to deal effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Display a positive attitude and is a “team player”
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and the ability to stay focused
  • Experience with an integrated HR/Payroll system, including time and attendance, such as Ceridian Dayforce, Lawson, or ADP preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with federal, local and multi-state payroll laws
  • The ability to work independently and adapt to a changing environment
  • Strong communication skills including interaction with internal and external contacts
  • Possess excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work under schedule constraints while consistently meeting timelines
