To operate and adjust a combination screen- flexographic printing press
and auxiliary equipment along with maintaining required quality and quantity of
production. Previous experience of operation of Nilpeter and Gallus preferable.


  1. Checks pallet for
    proper raw stock, loads onto press winder. 
    Checks printing screens/plates and inks for proper specifications.  Sets up press with printing screens/plates
    and ink for scheduled orders.

  2. Adjusts printing
    press to obtain proper register and proper ink and coating application, per
    customer specifications.

  3. Inspects printed
    product during pressrun and adjusts settings and ink viscosity for quality
    reproduction, or shuts down press and makes adjustments and repairs.

  4. Removes and cleans
    printing screens/plates and rollers.

  5. Washes up
    equipment at end of run.

  6. Makes repairs on
    equipment, replacing worn or damaged parts. 
    Assists department mechanic in making major repairs and overhauls.

  7. Keeps record of
    daily stock usage and time on each order. 
    Records and disposes of spoilage in designated manner.

  8. Notifies
    supervisor of any major incidence of recurring equipment malfunction or poor
    quality raw material or production.

  9. Dispose of
    Hazardous waste from press area into labeled drums for hazardous waste


  1. Cleans and
    lubricates equipment.

  2. Cleans area around
    equipment and bench at end of shift.

  3. Training will be
    provided to educate operators in the mounting of screens and plates.

  4. Ensure that Food Safety Policies and practices are followed and understood.

  2. Considerable mental
    and visual effort and alertness.

  3. Experience in
    printing industry (at least two years) and in adjusting high-speed mechanical

  4. Job involves
    standing most of the shift.

  5. Dexterity in using
    hand tools; exposure to noise, heat, and fumes.
