Responsible for directing resources for proper utilization in the work process and ensuring standard work is being followed using appropriate SOP’s. Facilitate and coordinate the achievement of short and long term goals for the company that supports Key Performance Indicators. Manage day-to-day activities to achieve customer expectations.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Understand, adhere to, and enforce the policies and procedures outlined in the employee manual.
  • Understand and support the Corporate Mission Statement, Values, Vision, and Operating Principles.
  • Adhere to and enforce mandatory safety requirements. Conduct safety observations and/or audits.
  • Monitor and enforce all safety policies while looking for ways to improve.
  • Meet attendance standards.
  • Lead, practice and sustain Lean initiatives and 6S procedures including Kaizen meetings.
  • Technical Resource for all your work areas.
  • Ensure that Standard Operating Principles (SOP’s) are being followed for each process.
  • Provide immediate support when a flow in the process is down.
  • Perform performance evaluation with each employee at least one time per year.
  • Communicate concerns and issues at shift changes with peers as needed.
  • Participate on the Safety Committee.
  • Conduct Job and Item approvals as outlined in the Quality Management System (QMS) and work with customer as needed.
  • Coordinate technical training for team (specific job task training) and process associated paperwork for performance demonstrations.
  • Provide immediate constructive feedback both positive and negative to peers and others.
  • Teach and develop people individually and with respect to the business.
  • Resolve daily staffing issues when necessary.
  • Communicate with other departments and the other Team leaders.
  • Cross train with other Supervisors to be a resource during vacations and on weekends to all areas of the plant.
  • Educate and communicate the process of Plan vs. Actual on a daily basis to your teams during Tool Box Meetings.
  • Attend and participate in Weekly Staff Meetings.
  • Daily verification of time and attendance using the Kronos work system.
  • Required to work 12 hour shifts; required to work weekends as scheduled on a regular or as-needed basis.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Minimum two year certificate from college or technical school in Management or related program preferred or equivalent work experience.

Minimum of two years progressive experience in the role(s) you are Supervising. Previous degree or supervisory experience in a LEAN manufacturing environment preferred.

  •  Interpersonal skills; focuses on solving conflict, not blaming, maintains confidentiality, listens to others without interrupting, keeps emotions under control, remains open to others’ ideas and tries new things.
  •  Must be able to think independently and be assertive.
  •  Must exercise good judgment.
  •  Proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel & Outlook.
  •  Able to learn new computer programs and complex procedures in a highly customized, dynamic, multi-tasking work environment.

Physical Demands:

Works in a manufacturing / office environment and will be required to wear hearing, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment while performing duties in the manufacturing setting. Must be able to move freely throughout the plant. May be on feet 8 – 12 hours a day with need to stand, walk, kneel, crawl, crouch, stoop, bend, climb, as needed. Moderate to frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs (25 lbs repetitively) is required. May be sitting for 8 -12 hours a day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close & distance vision, ability to adjust focus, and ability to distinguish color variations, peripheral and depth perception. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed.
