Job description 

  • Ensures all mechanical equipment, installations and facilities remain operational in good working condition during all shifts through the performance of proper maintenance management.
  • Responsible for major and minor repairs and daily maintenance (preventive, adaptive and corrective) of all equipment and facility installations (offset printing presses, die-cutting machines, HVAC, facilities, etc).
  • Routinely surveys and documents electrical and mechanical condition of facility and production equipment in accordance with pre-established preventive maintenance plans and programs.
  • Provides timely, practical, and professional response to work orders issued from internal customers and communicate the status of work orders to those internal customers.
  • Communicates pertinent electrical information to affected employees on all shifts.
  • Cleans filters, printing presses, rotary die-cutting machines, blank separators, and other auxiliary equipment to ensure optimal operation and efficiency; lubricates bearings, guides, checks, monitors and refill oil reservoirs as needed.
  • Demonstrates ability to understand and interpret mechanical drawings, engineering schematics, diagrams, specifications and operating instructions.
  • Awareness and ability to interpret hazardous and non-hazardous material specifications to include oils, solvents, cleaning agents, safety measures and precautionary statements.

  • Previous electrical experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial production equipment.
  • High-School diploma (or GED equivalent); Associates or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; equivalent industry experience may be substituted in lieu of formal training; electrical certification a plus.
  • Acute problem-solving skills and passion for working on mechanical, electrical and automation challenges utilizing a hands-on approach.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical proficiency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills to solve every day challenge.
  • Safety orientated working to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Ability to lift 80lbs. on a periodic basis.
  • Flexibility to work in a 2 or 3 shift system.
