Job Description

Job Purpose:

As an industry and market-segment expert, manages and maintains effective relationships, growing sales year-over-year, with assigned key accounts. Develops new business by proactively identifying opportunities within the wine and spirits market vertical.  Understands the voice of the customer and the drivers of customer satisfaction to provide marketing and sales recommendations of assigned accounts.

Duties Include:

  •  Achieves sales operational objectives by contributing sales and marketing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews. Prepares and completes action plans, communicates production, productivity, quality and customer service standards. Resolves problems, identifies trends and determines system improvements. Recommends, plans and coordinates change initiatives that will directly or indirectly benefits our customers.
  • Leads the overall effectiveness of assigned customer relationships, including personal visits, developing account strategies and strong relationships. Communicates account strategies internally to key stakeholders, including the Customer Service group and supports their role in achieving the strategy
  • Coordinates all activities and communications with assigned accounts to achieve metrics and expense budget. Analyzes and provides sales forecast data as required.  Proactively manages, communicates and hands-off to Customer Service and other key stakeholder’s new projects
  • Leads the growth of assigned accounts by developing capability through leveraging technologies and people, including identifying and bringing new business and deepening account knowledge and relationships
  • Identifies sales and marketing opportunities by recognizing consumer requirements, defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses. Makes recommendations based on this information
  • Provides input into the annual sales budget and monthly Exceed approved budgets for assigned accounts
  • Works with Accounting and customers on escalated A/R issues and any other billing related Ensure customer contracts are modeled after best practices
  • Coordinates site appropriate business to Food and Beverage and CPG Division facilities as necessary, interfacing with the respective functional teams
  • Organizes and manages internal resources to meet strategic, financial and growth objectives of assigned accounts
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Utilizes and embraces best practice sales processes as established by the company
  • Builds strong relationships with members of the organization and contribute to the goals and objectives of the other functional areas represented on the sales support teams
  • Seeks and brings in new business year over year
  • Models the Corporate Values and Principles. Conducts oneself in an appropriate and business-like and professional manner and builds strong relationships both internally and externally. Contributes to the goals and objectives of the other functional areas represented on the sales support
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential

Job Requirements


  • Minimum 5 years of key account management with multi-site, multi-national corporations, managing business over 30% share of wallet, relating to the wine and spirits or similar industries such as packaging is required
  • BA or BS degree Preferred. MBA a plus
  • Minimum of five years of marketing and sales planning experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
  • Key Account Management & Competitive Analysis experience
  • A natural ability to understand customer needs and delivering on company promises
  • Strong client relationships
  • Valid DL
  • Proficient in MS Office Suites
