Overall Responsibilities

The Director of Human Resources Information Systems is a member of the Human Resources team and is responsible for collaborating closely with business leaders and HR colleagues globally to think across HR domains, define and improve business processes, provide business expertise to technology solution delivery projects and lead the organization through transformational change. The Director, HRIS must have a passion for technical and business collaboration, and a desire to help scale HR applications for a complex and growing global organization.

 Key Responsibilities/Duties

•       Elicit and document requirements, perform impact analysis and create process improvement recommendations for complex technology projects across HR.

•       Champion and drive requirements and scope for large technology programs that cross multiple functional disciplines and countries.

•       Partner closely with stakeholders in both HR and IT to communicate status, share knowledge and bring decentralized, disparate processes together to advance and achieve strategic initiative of operating via one global system of record for HRIS/HCM

•       Use a combination of product instinct, data, and teamwork to ensure well-crafted solutions.

•       Collaborate with IT and vendors to plan, implement, and build the right features / enhancements with a focus on solutions that solve for company-wide, end-to-end HR processes.

•       Provide strategic consultation on HR technology and trends to the business and drive near and long- term technology roadmaps focused on digitalization, automation, and data analytics.  Deploy technology roadmap and framework to ensure HR is progressing the company forward.

•       Take ownership for a successful product outcome and anticipate needs across HR functions, system development/IT, HR operations, and production support teams

•       Provide consultative support to HR & business leaders in areas of HRIS to ensure successful execution of process and projects. 

•       Provide project management support and communications for complex projects as well as anticipate and raise risks and propose mitigation plans. 

•       Assist in the identification and tracking of measurements to determine overall effectiveness and financial impact of the technology strategies and initiatives.

•       Deliver thought leadership and strategic direction to continuously improve technical capability and automation. Assess technology needs and improve, or create new, innovative solutions. Act as the thought leader for technology best practices.

  • Active, open and continuous engagement with HR Business Partners, HR leaders and other senior business leaders. Ensure global compliance in all systems is delivered in accordance with legal and/or corporate requirements.
  • Identify the future capability needs of the business and ensure plans are in place to deliver necessary technology.

•       Lead and drive UAT for large technology program delivery.

•       Serve as “sponsor” or designated partner management leader with regarding to third parties, including recommendations on selection of solution providers, applications, and consultants, as well as overall relationship and contract management.

  • Negotiate and manage agreements for licensing, subscriptions, consulting, implementation, and project services, as well as lead and manage annual strategic planning and budgeting  process for HRIS tools, technologies and related resources.
  • Function as a key contributor on all merger and integration activity from an HRIS perspective.

Qualifications

•       Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organization Management, or equivalent experience in a related field.

•       10 years or more of experience leading HR technology in a role delivering or implementing enterprise HR technology solutions in a complex, global organization.

•       8 or more years of experience eliciting and gathering business requirements, including proven experience with:

o   Running requirements workshops with multiple business stakeholders

    • Writing user stories
    • Creating process flows
    • Creating swim lane diagrams
    • Fit Gap Analysis
    • Impact Analysis

•       Ability to help document current and future state process, challenge the status quo and look across functions for ways to automate and reduce manual work.

•       Proven ability to coordinate and align a diverse set of global business stakeholders on technology initiatives.

•       Exceptional communication skills and an above average ability to translate technology concepts to others and experience resolving conflicts across different groups of stakeholders.

•       Exceptionally detailed oriented and knowledgeable about how to think about systems testing, including unusual scenarios.

•       A 'driver' personality - constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery while balancing the need for great collaboration across a variety of stakeholders to achieve your objectives.

•       Ability to know how to gather, share and leverage data to make decisions.

•       Deep functional experience with HR functional domains (you understand what it takes to make HR functions successful).

•       Experience in global commercial enterprises known for strong HR practices.

•       5 or more years of experience creating and executing on project plans, tracking dates and status and providing project updates to peers and senior leadership.

•       Maintains confidentiality and assumes responsibility to carry out all assignments in a proficient and professional manner.
