Job Description


Organize, check, and schedule all incoming manufacturing orders and tests for the Art and Cylinder departments. Maintain accurate records and accounting of active and in-active layouts.   Be in a position to cross-train with and provide backup to Sr Graphics Technician and Layout Technician as needed.


  1. Complete Job Packets for all new incoming manufacturing orders and tests.
  2. Organize all layout records
  3. Communicate existing cylinder status for all incoming new orders
  4. Assist with digital step and repeat checks
  5. Break down and file all packets back from the press
  6. Maintain color-key and color standard files
  7. ABGPM Printer Location updates/Weekly report
  8. Cross check cylinder inventory to color-key/press form/spec sheet
  9. Manage Job jackets within the plant and maintain file for job archives
  10. Provide layouts to Converting
  11. Create layouts for maximum sheet utilization new jobs, combo jobs and new dimensional specs
  12. Monitor and balance cylinder use 


    1. Assist with incoming art scheduling and tracking
    2. Proof checking as needed
    3. Back up support for Graphics Prep and Layout Technician

Job Requirements


  1. Highly organized and detail oriented with a keen sense of responsibility
  2. Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  3. Ability to manage time and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  4. Ability to work with internal and external individuals, demonstrating a high level of professionalism.
  5. Ability to use and a strong working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Publisher, and Explorer).
  6. Excellent proof-reading skills
  7. Good understanding of print production process including finishing. (Gravure process preferred)
  8. Minimum of 2 year degree in Graphic Communications or related field. Significant experience related directly to position duties may be considered as substitute for formal education.
  9. Good working knowledge of Graphic application software in a MAC environment. This includes Esko/AWS, Art-Pro, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat. Knowledge of Quark a plus, but not required.
  10. Minimum of 2 years production experience with Flexo or Gravure prepress operations.
  11. Enthusiasm for learning and personal growth.
  12. Must be willing to work overtime as warranted.
  13. Ability to use and a working knowledge of office equipment (copiers, fax machines, scanners).
  14. A valid driver's license in his/her state of residence.
