Flexo Maintenance Technician leads the preventive maintenance process, orders parts for machine repairs and schedules maintenance work orders for equipment in the Flexographic Print Department.  In addition, this position is responsible for supporting equipment ranging from facility support to production, and finishing equipment as dictated by conditions or assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Hands-on, troubleshooting printing and converting equipment
  • Perform both major and minor repairs to facility and production equipment
  • Maintain and update electrical preventive maintenance plans and programs for facility and production equipment as directed
  • Routinely survey and document the electrical and mechanical condition of facility and production equipment in accordance with pre-established preventive maintenance plans and programs
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic circuits utilizing various test equipment
  • Repair and troubleshoot variable frequency drives and AC/DC drives as well as motors 
  • Basic machine shop skills
  • Read and understand maintenance manuals, schematics, blueprints, drawings and parts manual, catalogs 
  • Utilize testing equipment and measuring devices to verify tolerances, check dimensions, troubleshoot and maintain machine consistency
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks as assigned
  • Provide timely, practical, and professional response to work orders issued from internal customers and communicate the status of work orders to those internal customers
  • Document training tools for other Maintenance Technicians as well as equipment Operators.
  • Must be able to routinely work overtime.  Shift begins at 5:45AM Monday through Friday.  Occasional weekends and phone calls after hours.

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Safety oriented working to prevent injuries
  • Minimum of 5 years troubleshooting and repairing Flexographic print equipment
  • High-School diploma required (or GED equivalent)
  • Ability to work in the US without company sponsorship 
  • Flexibility to work extra hours as production requirements require
  • Creating and completing work orders in CMMS software
  • Working knowledge of AC voltage up to 480 volts
  • Forklift operation
  • Basic machine shop skills
  • Read and understand maintenance manuals, schematics, blueprints, drawings and parts manual, catalogs
  • Ability to lift 80 lbs. occasionally

While preforming the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to:

  • Wear hearing, foot, eye and/or other personal protective equipment while in a manufacturing setting
  • Stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb or balance
  • Use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or clasp; reach with hands and arms; occasionally work  in close quarters
  • Vertically lift or horizontally transfer objects up to 50 pounds
  • Vision abilities include – close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to distinguish color variations, and ability to adjust focus
  • Medium to loud noise environment
  • Work flexible/varying schedules and hours as needed
  • Work overtime as required by workload and customer mandated deadlines
